Overview

A Rim & Tire Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, mounting, balancing, repairing, and replacing tires and rims for various vehicles. This role ensures safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

Inspect tires and rims for wear, damage, punctures, and safety issues. Mount, balance, rotate, and dismount tires on various vehicle types. Repair flat or damaged tires using proper tools and techniques. Install new rims and ensure correct alignment and torque specifications. Operate tire changers, balancers, and related shop equipment safely. Maintain inventory of tires, rims, and related supplies. Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used. Follow manufacturer guidelines and industry safety standards. Ensure workshop cleanliness, organization, and proper tool maintenance. Provide customers with professional advice on tire and rim options, replacements, and maintenance. Assist in seasonal tire changeovers and storage organization.

Skills

Proficiency with tire mounting and balancing equipment. Knowledge of different tire types, rim sizes, and fitment standards. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in installation. Ability to lift heavy tires and rims safely. Good time management and efficiency in completing jobs. Communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. Understanding of workplace safety procedures.

Pay: $25.32-$43.87 per hour
