Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our Edmonton-based team in the assembly and testing of diesel-powered generator sets. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical ability, leadership skills, and an uncompromising eye for detail. The work is highly process-driven and repetitive, with established quotas to be met during our production season.

You will be responsible for ensuring proper assembly, accurate documentation, and quality control of finished gensets, while also providing direction to team members working under your supervision.

Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical parts and components for diesel genset skids. Prepare and install battery cables, fuel lines, and other sub-assemblies. Test run gensets and complete QA documentation. Track and manage parts, fasteners, and materials required for assembly. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Thorough understanding of fasteners, torque specifications, thread lockers, and material grades. Set up and operate hand and power tools safely and correctly. Provide direction and support to assemblers working under your supervision. Conduct some outdoor work during genset testing. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Minimum Requirements

HET or Automotive Journeyman Ticket, OR at least 5 years proven mechanical experience. Strong understanding of fasteners, torque specs, thread pitches, grades, and materials. Proficient with both hand and power tools. High degree of attention to detail (non-negotiable). Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in both shop and outdoor environments. Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Beneficial Qualifications

Supervisory or team lead experience. Forklift ticket.
