Role:

The purpose of the job is to provide overall support to operational functions.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assembly and packaging of products as required
• Maintain efficiencies and proper documentation as required
• Various assigned duties throughout Operations as needed
• Miscellaneous movement of boxes / bins / product
• Building of boxes / packaging
• Assist as directed in start-up operations
• Maintain proper cleaning and sanitizing of miscellaneous parts / equipment prior to end of shift shut down
• Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to operate at all times
• Housekeeping \xe2\x80\x93 maintain overall cleanliness of plant environment
• Comply with all safety rules and adherence to all Company Health and Safety policies, OHSA. Achieve if required the necessary certifications for a pallet jack /walkie operator
• Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP regulations
• Participating in monthly inventory as required
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

• Completed High School, Post-Secondary education an asset
• Trained in WHMIS, Health and Safety, Food Safety
• First Aid training certified preferred
• Fluency in reading and writing English
• Basic math skills
• 1 year work experience, preferably in food processing or a freezer environment
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with superior attention to safe work methods
• Physically able to lift (50 to 70 + lbs.), stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, squat, repetitively for the duration of the shift
• Can work in cold environments, be exposed to dust, odors and raw meat including pork, poultry and seafood
• Communication and Language \xe2\x80\x93 is required to communicate using courtesy, tact, discretion, and persuasion, where appropriate. Fluent use of English \xe2\x80\x93 written and spoken. Good handwriting skills
• Judgment \xe2\x80\x93 Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions
• Problem Solving \xe2\x80\x93 Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Stress Management \xe2\x80\x93 Ability to work well under pressure
• Quality \xe2\x80\x93 Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality
• Adaptability \xe2\x80\x93 Can maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or environment. Able to adjust effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
• Time Management \xe2\x80\x93 Use time efficiently to meet deadlines
• Health and Safety \xe2\x80\x93 Works in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations as well as Company health and safety policies and procedures
• Food Safety/Security \xe2\x80\x93 Works in compliance with all applicable Food Safety policies and procedures as set out by the Company and relevant legislation including HACCP regulations
