Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Meat Manager to oversee our meat department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meat cutting and food preparation, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires excellent customer service skills and a passion for the food industry, as you will be responsible for managing inventory, training staff, and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the meat department, including inventory management and product display. Perform meat cutting and preparation tasks while adhering to food safety standards. Ensure all products are properly packaged and labeled according to regulations. Train and supervise staff in meat handling techniques, customer service, and food safety practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the meat department and ensure compliance with health regulations. Engage with customers to provide product information, answer questions, and assist with special requests. Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory. Collaborate with other departments to promote sales and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience in meat cutting and food preparation within a retail or grocery environment. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
