Our Lacombe Food Store is looking for a full-time Meat cutter (floater) to join our team. The position is based out of Lacombe Food Store and will involve working at our other food locations in central Alberta as needed.

Full-time: 40 hours/week. Benefit eligible after 3 months.

This position provides benefits, if you are coming from out of province please remember you need to have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.

Availability requirements: weekdays and weekends - mornings (7:00 am start), afternoons and evenings (up to 8:00 pm)

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service and respond to questions,
• Cut, trim, and prepare all varieties and cuts of meat,
• Prepare special orders,
• Wrap and package meat,
• Accurately receive stock and inventory,
• Ensure a sanitary and safe work environment,
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills,
• Attention to detail and quality,
• Proper knife handling and use of other cutting equipment,
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
• Ability to work independently and in a team,
• Some heavy lifting is required (up to 50 lbs.),
• Comfortable working in a cold/refrigerated area,
• As this position will be providing assistance to all our food locations in central Alberta, reliable transportation is an asset,
• Must be over the age of 14 (Employment Standards requires a permit to employ a person age 14 or under; therefore, disclosure is required).
