We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Meat Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting with the preparation, presentation, and sale of meat products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling and safety, along with excellent time management and communication skills. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products and service.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with their meat selections and provide knowledgeable recommendations. Prepare and package meat products according to company standards, ensuring freshness and quality. Operate the POS system efficiently, including cash handling and processing transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the meat department, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure proper stock levels and product rotation. Upsell additional products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred, particularly in meat preparation or kitchen roles. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards. Proficient in basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Familiarity with POS systems, including Micros POS, is a plus. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Must be able to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods as required by the role.
