Trouw Nutrition in Western Canada is looking for a Monogastric Sales Manager in Manitoba. This position will be in/around Winnipeg, MB and will be a key driver of growth in the poultry & swine industry for Manitoba.

THE ROLE
Together with the Commercial Director, the Monogastric Sales Manager formulates the strategy of the Monogastric (Poultry & Swine) Sales team and will implement it through effective design and management of the key areas of the department, to ensure a strong, innovative and well positioned and growing sales operation, which meets (or exceeds!) the sales targets of the department, and thereby contribute to the performance of the company and most importantly our customers.

You will create an environment within the Manitoba Monogastric Sales team to focus on building and retaining long term relationships with our customers.

The Monogastric Sales Manager is a people manager who is helping to lead a team of commercial people (Sales Representatives) and is responsible for ensuring we are providing the best experience as a business partner to our customers, and realizing the overall sales volume of the team. Besides the focus on reaching commercial targets, the Monogastric Sales Manager coaches, motivates and engages his/her team to reach their targets and establish (organic) growth. You will regularly coordinate and lead poultry & swine meetings to provide training, market updates, and keep the team focused.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Account management: Ensures the development and execution of professional account management, and maintains personal relationships with main accounts, within the guidelines of the annual plans, resulting in optimization of customer/consumer relations and business opportunities, and a positive image of the company in the market.

Sales: Develops and maintains an efficient sales (support) organization, according to the framework of the year plans, to obtain the quantitative and qualitative sales targets, and the sales activities anticipate the market developments. Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals. Provide a clear structure for Sales training and Sales plans for individual reps.

Marketing: Work closely with Canadian marketing team to optimize marketing and advertising opportunities.

People Leadership: Organizes, manages, develops and staffs the department in line with corporate guidelines, in order to be equipped for current and future business challenges and contribute to the optimization of business results. Coaches his/her team on a weekly basis to achieve team and individual targets. Assist in locating and hiring new recruits along with managing the on-boarding process.

Training: Develop and maintain the schedule and content for all sales related trainings. Work closely with the poultry technical and nutrition team to create training schedules for direct reports on a yearly basis.

Technical Support: Ration balancing for a focused group of reps. Responsible for on farm technical support in home area and as needed across the region. In addition providing technical support material for the area.

Other Hiring Criteria\'s
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is considered an asset
  • A degree in agriculture and/or business is considered an asset
  • Experience in sales considered an asset.
  • Multiple years leading and developing a team.
