We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Math and Science Teacher to join our learning centre team. The ideal candidate will have a
strong academic background in mathematics and science (including secondary-level physics and chemistry)
and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
This role involves teaching a wide range of concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus, while also delivering core scientific principles and problem-solving skills in chemistry and physics.
Duties
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to different learning styles.
Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Math and Science to students from Grades 8-12.
Prepare students for school exams, standardized tests, and academic success
Track student progress and communicate effectively with the centre's management
Create a supportive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and organization in all sessions
Assess student performance through regular testing and assignments, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field
Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area is preferred.
Experience in classroom teaching or tutoring, particularly in math and science, is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex concepts to students.
Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners, including those requiring special education services.
Ability to teach in-person or online at the learning centre location (not a remote position)
Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum is an asset
