Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable

Math Teacher/Tutor

to join our growing team. The successful candidate will help students strengthen their mathematical understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy creating fun, interactive, and meaningful math learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality math lessons aligned with Spark Mind's learning objectives. Teach fundamental and advanced math concepts, including arithmetic, geometry, fractions, algebraic thinking, and problem-solving strategies. Support students with school homework, test preparation, and enrichment challenges. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Track students' progress and communicate updates with parents and program coordinators. Create a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes curiosity and a love of math.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (OCT certification preferred but not required). Previous experience teaching or tutoring math for Grades 1-8. Strong understanding of the Ontario math curriculum and effective teaching strategies. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Passion for helping children gain confidence and enjoyment in learning math.

Schedule & Compensation

Flexible after-school hours (typically between 5:00 - 7:00 PM) and/or weekends. Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Mississauga, ON L5M 7P5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
