The role
The
Materials Planner
plays a key role in ensuring our production runs smoothly by managing material requirements, inventory levels, and supplier coordination. This position bridges production, procurement, and logistics -- keeping materials flowing efficiently to support on-time delivery and operational excellence.
This is a
full-time, permanent
role based in Victoria, BC. The position is
hybrid
, with a combination of in-office and remote work. Our team works
40 hours
per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
(some evenings or overtime may be required).
Salary:
$65,000-85,000 CAD annually

What
you'll
do
Develop and maintain Material Requirements Plans (MRP) based on production forecasts and sales demand.
Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accurate data input into the ERP/MRP system.
Monitor inventory levels and trigger purchase orders to ensure material availability.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve quality or delivery issues.
Work closely with production and procurement teams to align schedules and minimize downtime.
Track inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts, and recommend adjustments to safety stock.
Analyze material usage trends and provide recommendations for cost and efficiency improvements.
Generate reports on material status and inventory KPIs.
What you bring
Education & experience
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or production scheduling (manufacturing experience preferred).
Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
Collaborative approach and willingness to work hands-on when needed.
Technical skills
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
Solid understanding of supply chain, lead times, and inventory optimization principles.

Inventory accuracy and turnover
Production downtime due to material shortages
Cost improvements through better planning
Nice to have
Experience in solar, lighting, or electronics manufacturing is an advantage.
