Regular Job Duties:

• Conduct laboratory tests and build competency in various laboratory tests including hardness testing, tensile testing, weld testing, strain gauge testing, hydrotesting, and other laboratory tests
• Conduct non-standard laboratory tests in support of and under the direction of SGS engineering personnel (e.g. strain gauging, hydrotesting, etc.).
• Flag failed test results to the supervisor
• Work with standards and codes such as ASTM, ASME, CSA, NACE, API, AWS, and ISO 17025

Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile: Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Materials Engineering Technology or related fields.

Experience:

• Upon hiring, the Materials Technologist shall meet one of the following criteria for certification:

• Be registered with or be eligible for registration with the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET)

• Relevant Laboratory experience is considered an asset
