Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently recruiting for an experienced Material Technician for Fort McKay Logistics LP. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP. This is a temporary position lasting approximately three (3) to six (6) months located north of Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties, Responsibilities and Skills required:

  • Must have a good working knowledge of materials used in the industry
  • Load and offload trucks
  • Pick items as per work orders
  • Operate forklift
  • Lift and carry boxes
  • Be alert to risks and threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
  • Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain professional driving habits at all times
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Must be decisive and work well under pressure; particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital
  • Turnaround Logistics yard, team 30/31 (days only)
Minimum Qualifying Requirements:
  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Retention of a valid Class five (5) driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Clean five (5) year drivers abstract required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience is required
  • Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS and OSSA or BSO) is required
  • Forklift certification is required
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • TDG ticket is an asset
  • Aerial Work Platform certification is an asset
  • Ability to speak, write and read English is required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Working Conditions:

There are occasions when the individual may come into contact with dust due to the site\xe2\x80\x99s conditions and with fluids from the vehicles such as windshield washer, coolant and oil. Vehicle inspection regardless of weather conditions is required daily.
