Material Prep

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Material Prep Technician is responsible for dispensing and compounding raw materials in accordance with Master formulas and standard operating procedures, and the cleaning of equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

This position is located in Windsor, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.

Shifts: 12-hour Continental Shifts

The Role

Assemble, disassemble, rinse, scrub, clean and disinfect equipment in accordance with SOPs. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: fill tanks, lids, tumbler baskets, valves, hoses, carboy containers, stainless steel pots, spreader boxes, pumps, mixing heads and mixers.

Execute steps to prepare and /or color gel mass in accordance to master formula instructions and standard operating procedures.

Comply with all SOPs and GMPs.

Completes all documentation as required.

Prepare tanks to drain gel from gel Melter (inspect for cleanliness, assemble valve to tank, weigh tanks).

Compound raw materials in accordance to master formula instructions and standard operating procedures.

Drain and de-aerate fill material batches as required and in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

High School Diploma required.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility.

Strong mathematical skills in order to compute simple calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percent, and averages).

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Possess a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.

Use of manual dexterity is required.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

There is also the potential exposure to chemicals.

Pay: $22.64 /per hour
