Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Material Planner. This position is responsible for ensuring material availability across the shipyard and that material priorities are communicated cross functionality. The role involves day-to-day management of materials as well as project management of improvement initiatives to improve material availability and data integrity related to materials.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

• Education: Post Secondary Degree in business administration, engineering, or related disciplines required
• Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Previous experience in a production environment is preferred
• Proven ability to achieve high performance levels in a complex fast-moving environment
• Proven experience adapting to new computer programs and systems
• Previous work with an MRP system is preferred

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure material is available and ordered prior to starting a construction unit
• Update weekly material reports
• Attend weekly status meetings on material availability in support of the production schedule
• Enter material status within MRP system daily
