The Material Planner and Detail Scheduler is responsible for creating, validating, and maintaining a valid materials plan based upon the Master Production Schedule. They will work closely with the FMC Supply Chain Team to translate company demand into bi-weekly plant schedule.


The successful candidate will be accountable for the formal planning and execution of all tactical level processes required to secure and manage raw materials, packaging materials, and semi-finished materials, based on a forward-looking production plan. This includes scheduling and managing delivery, storage, staging, and movement of materials. Extensive use of the ERM system (SAP) and Microsoft Office products daily as an integral part of this job. They will coordinate the bi-weekly schedule to account for line capacity constraints, warehouse space, changeovers, equipment, and materials arriving, etc. The Material Planner and Detail Scheduler will also generate weekly & monthly reporting metrics, as well as lead weekly scheduling meetings.

Responsibilities:



Ensure the right materials are procured at the right time, quality and quantity to minimize production and storage costs, based on the material plan. Develop and provide expected packaging materials to suppliers on regular basis. Obtain supply capability confirmation. Schedule and manage the execution of packaging material deliveries against packaging purchase orders Lead resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for packaging materials. - Identify and initiate response to packaging service/quality complaints from manufacturing. Initiate return packaging process involving QA and Sourcing. Participate in and provide data for evaluation of supplier service performance and work with sourcing and suppliers to improve performance. Execute the plans for packaging materials for disposition. Enter and maintain accurate and timely production data in the SAP system and into site spreadsheets for site use and metrics. Manage levels, replenishment models, product mixes and stocking locations for in-process product. Participates in weekly planning meetings and present material plans as appropriate. Communicates with manufacturing, plant technical, purchasing, and master scheduling personnel regarding supply problems and their resolutions. Utilize MRP systems to plan and purchase packaging material and identify issues where appropriate. Leads the continuous improvement of the material planning process. Maintain accurate packaging material and supplier master data including planning parameters such as order quantities or lot sizes, lead times and safety stocks. Support inventory control practices monthly. A part of the counts & reconciliation process. Identify inaccurate packaging material inventory records and initiate actions to address. Oversees the preparation of the weekly onsite production schedule, coordinating product demand with Master Scheduling Lead and North America Master Schedulers. The finished production schedule is then communicated weekly to plant personnel. Communicate and coordinate with Operations Manager and Plant Manager regularly on production plan. Coordinates all site Bill of Material and recipe management in SAP. Schedule production lines to meet weekly/monthly demand. Complete weekly/monthly reporting metrics as required. Work with Operations team to conduct line performance review to assess current state and quantify opportunity areas, including activities like changeover and cleanout. Support adherence to the plant's safety and health policies and procedures.

Enhanced ability for site to react to unexpected changes in demand Effective use of MPS/MRP applications Compliance with process safety standards and corporate requirements Supporting facility's ability to meet deadlines and order commitments without business interruption caused by operational issues.

Required Education:



BA/BS Degree in supply chain, business or technical preferred

Qualifications:



SAP experience Capable of using the Microsoft Office tools 3+ years of relevant experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred Excellent communication skills to ensure effective cross-functional work throughout the organization. Includes the ability to present ideas, plans and recommendations and build consensus for final determinations, plans and processes. * Good problem-solving skills.
