The team works across the mines to ensure success through enhanced planning and scheduling processes and provide our employees the ability to identify and resolve work conflicts before they occur.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Material Operator II to join our T3 Mine Operation Team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position. The Material Operator will ensure that effective and efficient material control practices and processes are in place for department business needs.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Ensure MSD and Control Product Inventory requirements are adhered to for department. Create a personal safety plan annually and share it with work group and immediate manager
  • Support department through ordering, stocking and distribution of parts and materials. Ensure accurate inputting of information in the procurement, delivery and distribution systems, monitor stocking levels and delivery of materials.
  • Support cost effectiveness by recommending & receiving the best cost for material goods, monitor daily consumables periodically to ensure value is maintained
  • Ensure the systems for availability of materials are maintained as required to service the plant.
  • Evaluate new material requirements ensuring adequate ordering, stocking and distribution
  • Support affected stakeholders (i.e. Maintenance and Operations) with technical information
  • Support Section Coordinator with relevant information regarding consumption trends
  • Monitor critical spare inventory status, manage casual equipment rental requirements
About YouEducation:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience in similar position
  • Experience with material inventory management
  • Heavy industry experience would be an asset
Skills:
  • Ability to prioritize asset\xe2\x80\x99s maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve outcomes with minimum supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, Power BI)
