Pay range : Offering competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm

Role: This is an Operations position responsible for the maintenance and repairs of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as electric forklift equipment, pallet trucks and dock trucks. This also includes industrial batteries and charging equipment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements
  • Knowledge of controls and electric (AC \xe2\x80\x93 DC low voltage)
  • Maintain power material handling equipment (MHE). Including preventive maintenance (PM) of MHE fleet
  • checking, draining and filling oil levels as needed
  • checking, adjusting, or replacing all belts and chains as needed
  • checking and troubleshooting electrical control issues
  • replacing motors, drive units, electronics and controls
  • Replacing of wheels, bearings and axle shafts
  • safety checks
  • PM per manufacturers recommendations
  • Battery and Charger duties:
  • Assisting in battery charger repairs
  • Watering and washing batteries
  • Acid spill clean up
  • Setting equalizing charge on batteries
  • Responsible for logging time and materials into computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc.
  • Responsible for housekeeping, cleanup of all maintenance areas/work areas on a daily basis.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job
  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety
  • Champion overall safety in the department
  • Comply with OHS, and other local, state and federal regulations
  • Adhere to Organization and the Facilities Department policies and procedures including appropriate attire, grooming and attendance
  • Interact effectively, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of cooperation
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Trade school (mechanical discipline) or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Two years in an MHE maintenance position; or equivalent combination of education and related experience (Required)
  • Basic knowledge of:
  • Hydraulic systems/schematics/components
  • Electrical systems/schematics both AC and DC systems
  • Drive motors
  • Power amps
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems including:
  • Transmissions
  • Drive units
  • Differentials
  • Braking systems
  • Telescopic masts
  • Reach mechanisms
  • Steering systems
  • Suspension systems
