Summary



The Material Handler is responsible for the inventory management of materials, keeping accurate inventory records, organizing the storage areas, and ensuring that the materials are available when they are required in the production process.

Primary Responsibilities:



Receiving:

receive and inspect incoming materials, coordinate with the shipping department to ensure received items are in good condition and are allocated to the correct department, follow up with the Purchaser/Suppliers to track missing or late items

Inventory Control:

maintain a database of required materials, office and janitorial supplies, inform the Purchaser when supplies have reached the minimum threshold for re-ordering; assist in developing improved inventory control procedures

Storage Areas:

maintain clean, safe and organized storage areas with items clearly marked

Shipping:

assist the shipping department with the packaging and loading of finished products and materials

Additional Duties:

Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:



Industry Experience:

at least 3 years of experience in inventory control, specifically within the manufacturing or custom tooling industry, with a solid understanding of the manufacturing process (methods, materials, machines, tools)

Education:

High school diploma required; additional post-secondary education, or experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility, and with inventory tracking systems is a plus

Technical Skills:

Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel), inventory software & databases

Machine/Equipment Operation:

experience using forklifts, dollies, pump carts, overhead cranes, and other warehouse machinery is an asset

Manufacturing Knowledge

: Familiar with various manufacturing industries, their products, terminology, and processes

Relationship Management

: Capable of maintaining productive relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and team members

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
