A Material Handler at Copeland in Brantford, ON is responsible for the movement and organization of materials within the facility, using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. They locate, transport, and store materials, ensuring they are delivered to the correct locations for production, storage, or shipping. They also assist with quality control, inventory management, and maintaining a safe work environment.




Key Responsibilities:

Material Movement:

Loading, unloading, and transporting materials using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.

Storage and Organization:

Locating and storing materials in designated areas, including raw materials, finished goods, and other items.

Inventory Management:

Assisting with product and material audits, and inventory checks in storerooms and warehouses.

Quality Control:

Ensuring the proper receipt of shipments, validating shipping details, and assisting with quality control processes.

Safety and Compliance:

Operating equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to OSHA regulations and company procedures.

Communication and Teamwork:

Working with team members and leaders to coordinate material movement and address any issues.

AS A MATERIAL HANDLER, YOU WILL:




+ Correspond with couriers, including shipment set-ups, delivery instructions and estimated delivery expectations.
+ Prepare all shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests in accordance with generally accepted procedures.
+ Ensure goods to be shipped are properly packaged.
+ Maintain proper levels of stock, including shipment set-ups, delivery instructions and estimated delivery expectations.
+ Utilize proper shipping procedures for transportation of goods.
+ Maintain knowledge of safe storage and handling procedures for various materials.
Schedule distribution of goods, and prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:




+ High School Diploma
+ Forklift certification preferred but not required - must be able to obtain a certification
+ Ability to use various hand and power tools
+ Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
+ Ability to use carts and manual lifting devices (including but not limited to overhead hoists) to move products within the warehouse

In accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA),

the compensation for this role is $22.50

CAD per hour
