Bureau Veritas is looking for a

Material Handler - Archiving & Warehouse Dept.

As a Material Handler, your responsibilities are:

General lab support including sort and distribute, pre-processing & grinding of samples and archiving/warehouse department functions.

  • Follow SAIL and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs/WIs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Prioritize jobs according to Rush and client specific deadlines to meet required TAT and Hold Time.
  • Use summary & NEWTAT reports to plan and organize work. Ensure that all assigned and changing deadlines are consistently met.
  • Sorting and scanning of Environmental,
  • Soil, water, Air and Food samples as per SOP, type and size.
  • Subsampling water and soil samples.
  • Prepare composite sample as required.
  • Deliver sorted samples to respective workgroups promptly.
  • Provide input to corrective action procedures.
  • Homogenize soil samples by grinding for preparation of inorganic analysis, for HRMS lab and sample prep work using mechanical grinders.
  • Handle samples that are Hazardous, Legal, International, Explosives, cautioned etc. appropriately.
  • Daily temperature monitoring of ovens and fridges.
  • Ensure logbooks and equipment are appropriately maintained and verifications performed.
  • Ensure that cross contamination/labelling between samples and other materials does not occur.
  • Full utilization of SAIL and LIMS to enable trouble-shooting of any problems that may arise.
  • Archive, Dispose and Retrieve samples.
  • Retrieve samples required for reworks or customer/ lab requests.
  • Be audit compliant at all times and provide input to corrective actions.
  • Assist with laboratory projects.
  • Maintain, organize and store away lab supplies as required.
  • Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations diligently.
  • Provide support to other members of the section.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Good House Keeping standards are followed and sustained at all times. Maintain department in a clean, safe and organized manner.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
The following may be part of duties as a defined training exercise:
  • Cross-train at other workstations of the department.
  • Provide support and training to other members of the section.
  • Develop production efficiencies and implement concurrently with the Supervisor.
  • Recommend SOP/ WI / CTA / FCD revisions.
You are an ideal Material Handler if you have [Minimum Requirements]:
  • Minimum high school education.
  • Need to perform repetitive physical work as required and according to deadlines established by the supervisor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Comfortable working with a computer.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and tight timelines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50Lbs.
All candidates must be flexible to any shift changes as well as weekends
