Overview

The Material Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate flow of materials across departments, facilities, and external vendors. This position supports production efficiency by tracking, organizing, and facilitating the movement of materials, assemblies, and finished components between work centers, shipping docks, and outsourced service providers.

Duties

Coordinate material transfers between departments, facilities, and outside vendors. Verify and document material movement through logs, ERP systems, or tracking sheets. Work closely with Scheduling, Purchasing, and Production to ensure parts availability and correct routing. Prepare parts and packaging for shipment to outside services (e.g., coating, machining, welding, heat treatment) and create documentation. Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and material traceability. Identify material shortages or bottlenecks and communicate promptly to leadership. Ensure accurate labeling, staging, and organization of parts throughout the facility. Follow safety standards and housekeeping practices during material handling. Ensure quality standards are met during material handling and transfers. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

2+ years in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics role. Strong understanding of production flow and material handling practices. Computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, shipping platforms). Forklift and overhead crane certification or willingness to obtain. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part drawings. Dependable and proactive communicator. Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented and organized. Comfortable working across departments and sites.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 - 60 per week
