MATCHA MATCHA is an innovative cafe based in Downtown Toronto (Church St. & Carlton St.) primarily serving and specializing in everything matcha. We are hiring experienced baristas for MATCHA MATCHA's flagship location.
Our matcha is specially curated and shipped from farms in Japan offering a palatable yet true flavour experience for matcha enthusiasts and beginners alike. Beyond our product, we aim to offer the best customer service experience possible to keep customers satisfied from the moment they walk in.
By day (8AM - 7PM), MATCHA MATCHA operates as a modern cafe, serving drinks, baked goods, and merchandise. By night, the space is transformed into a high-end cocktail bar, serving an innovative menu inspired and fused with Asian flavours.

As a barista, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service along with:
Greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations either on the phone or in person.
Multitask drink preparation, customer service, floor maintenance, and operate POS.
Complete routine cleaning + maintenance.
Various duties required for day-to-day operations.
Ideal candidates we look for will have either full-time/ part-time availability across 4-5 days a week, particularly for mornings-to-afternoons, and will be available/ flexible to work weekends and/or holidays.
Responsibilities and Duties
Craft beverages, prepare ingredients, and package food for customers
Maintain store standards in drink quality and customer experience
Provide a friendly and hospitable experience for customers
Maintain inventory by replenishing stock as necessary from storage spaces
Maintain safe and healthy work environments by following WHMIS + Public Health standards and protocol
Maintain a consistently clean and organized sales floor + stockroom
Follow regularly scheduled cleaning + maintenance for store and equipment
Requirements
Previous experience working in Food & Beverage industry (ideal >1 year working in Food & Beverage and/or Retail)
Food Handler Certificate
Excellent customer service skills
Able to work well under pressure/in fast-paced environments
Able to work standing for long periods
Occasionally required to lift up to 25kg and carry items
Able to work variable hours including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and/or Statutory holidays
Attend paid training and on-boarding sessions before commencement of employment
For Part-time positions -- must be able to work for at least 10 hours per week (please do not apply if you cannot work for at least 10hr/week).
For Full-time positions -- must be able to work 30+ hours per week.
