Reporting to the Manager, Careers and Work Integrated Learning, this part-time Master's Programs External Partner Relations Coordinator position works closely with the Employer and Community Partner Outreach Specialist (ECPS), the work-integrated learning (WIL) and experiential learning (EL) Program Leads, the broader Careers and Work Integrated Learning (CWIL) team, and the Master's Program Office. This role will work collaboratively with the ECPS to build and maintain relationships with industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations, with an emphasis on recruiters, to generate career, WIL, and EL opportunities for Master's students. The primary focus will be on supporting the new Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program, with additional support for MBA student programming in the Alberta School of Business.
The Coordinator will advise employers on student competencies, opportunities to engage with Master's students, including MMA and MBA students, and effective recruitment strategies. There will be a particular emphasis on building partnership agreements in areas such as internships and other forms of experiential learning (e.g., capstone projects). They will use their knowledge of CWIL programs and services to refer employers and other stakeholders to the appropriate CWIL resource or, when applicable, to the U of A Career Centre or other WIL and EL offices at the University of Alberta. In addition, they are responsible for organizing events that facilitate connections between employers and students and may assist with other events coordinated by CWIL staff or career service providers across the University.
