Job Overview



The Master Scheduler is a collaborator, responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's production schedule to meet customer demands, maximizing operational efficiency, and ensuring the effective use of materials and resources. This role requires strong coordination with internal stakeholders to align production workflows, manage material availability, and proactively address potential challenges. The Master Scheduler serves as the central link between sales, production, procurement, supply chain, and quality, ensuring that finished products meet customer specifications and are delivered on time. The Master Scheduler deftly combines critical competencies of skillful interdepartmental collaboration while positively influencing others to set, achieve, and maintain production outcomes. Success is meeting customer delivery timelines with high-quality products through deep internal collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities



Work with relevant departments (Sales, Procurement, Production, Inventory etc.) to develop customer order lead time targets. Develop, maintain, and optimize the master production schedule for Industrial and Marshall Plant to align with sales forecasts, customer demand, capacity constraints, and material availability. Ensure schedule attainment and conduct daily reviews with key operational stakeholders to identify root causes and plans to close non-performance. Act on fresh fruit scheduling strategies during the season to optimize production and storage while minimizing liability. Collaborate with the Supply Chain, Warehouse Manager, and Logistics team to align raw fruit intake and provide clear receiving targets to ensure smooth material flow. Plan and communicate production workflows with relevant departments, monitoring material supply flows and addressing inventory-related issues to maximize operational performance. Optimize thawing/heat tempering time of raw materials to align seamlessly with production requirements and maintain product quality. Create production orders and ensure accurate posting on a timely basis to support production tracking and reporting. Manage and maintain all scheduling and raw material documentation (Production Orders, Yield Reports, Standard Cost Routings), including records of schedule adjustments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear communication to stakeholders. Stay closely aligned with the sales forecast. Ensure production plans reflect demand and capacity realities and proactively communicate potential issues to affected departments Track and improve the success rate of make-to-order and make-to-stock production, driving efficiency and customer satisfaction. Review raw material inventory and select appropriate materials to meet finished product specifications, ensuring quality and compliance. Communicate all required supplies, including packaging materials with relevant departments to meet production schedules. Through an outward-facing lens, build knowledge of competitor capabilities and industry trends and share insights, opportunities and potential risks with colleagues.

Qualifications



Education & Experience:



Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing or food processing environment. Experience with ERP or MRP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data management. Ability to anticipate potential challenges and develop proactive solutions.

Working Conditions



Office and production floor environment. Regular interaction with production staff, supply chain, and quality control teams. May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet critical deadlines.

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
