POSITION SUMMARYAs a Master Data Manager, you will support operational and analytical teams by ensuring the quality and availability of master data and other key data elements across systems and platforms. This includes monitoring and analyzing master data, managing master data relationships, and developing processes and controls ensure master data integrity. The Master Data Manager reports directly to the Senior director, sales accounting, analytics, and projects.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures the quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
  • Works with business and IT to identify master data datasets, to catalogue where they are used in the organization and to identify their quality requirements across all quality dimensions.
  • Profiles, monitors, and reports the quality of master data against documented quality requirements.
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvements, assesses the cost and feasibility of making these improvements and helps the business prioritise among them.
  • Manages, analyzes, and resolves data issues through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
  • Conducts data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management, quicker access, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Participates in the design and maintenance of data pipelines and database architecture to translate business requirements into feasible models and warehouse designs to maximise the value of master data dataset.
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, participates in the definition and implementation of data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure that the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
  • Participates in the deployment and upgrade of databases and business applications where data is present.
  • Assists in the development of best practices in data management, governance, data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners.
  • Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to integrity of data sets.
  • Provides data consulting in support of business and information initiatives to clients to improve client database systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA in information science, computer science, business administration or related field.
  • Relevant work experience of 7 + years such as data analysis or computer programming, including in professional environment.
  • Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and leadership.
  • SQL and Database knowledge.
  • Power BI, create, structured and ad hoc reports.
  • SAP, JDE, Excel expertise (asset).
  • Strong analytical and system skills and creativity.
  • Ability to establish solid relationships and work in team with various stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment.
LANGUAGES
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both in English and French.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
