Master Data Field Validator (electrical/instrumentation)

Job Description


Our client, a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection has an immediate need for a Master Data Field Validator with a focus on electrical and instrumentation to work with the instrumentation discipline design lead on multi-discipline projects within the mining industry. This is a contract position for seven (7) months supporting McArthur River/Key Lake Operations, Saskatchewan.

  • Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided.
  • Rotation (1 week in/1 week out,11 hours a day)
  • Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Responsibilities
  • Perform field walkdowns using documents like Electrical Single Line Diagrams, verifying the existence of assets with those on the documents, along with other information like operating condition of the assets, name plate information, etc.
  • Ensure data is maintained and up to date in the appropriate systems.
  • Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors concerning the supply market, and write reports and recommendations.
  • Provides research and input into the financial sourcing aspects for assets when there are components missing.
  • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
  • Leverage the organization\'s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers to the organization.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries and clarify requirements and provide information as needed.
  • Assess requirements of an establishment and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased as needed.
  • Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
  • Carry out a limited range of technical functions in support of research in electrical and electronic engineering and physics.
  • Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
  • Calibrate electrical or electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
  • Collect and compile operational or experimental data and assist in the preparation of estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports.
  • Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in operating facilities doing hands on work on E/I assets
  • Previous experience working with engineering drawings, SLDs, etc.
  • Previous experience working with engineering drawings, PI&Ds, etc.
  • Experience assessing requirements, estimating costs and materials and developing specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
  • Establish and monitor progress of delivery schedules as needed.
  • Contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
  • Previous experience assisting with the design, development and testing of electrical and electronic components, equipment and systems.
  • Previous experience assisting with the preparation of estimates, schedules, specifications and reports.
  • Previous experience installing, maintaining and servicing equipment, as well as assisting with the inspection, testing and adjusting of electronic components.
  • Previous experience setting up and operating specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems.
