Position Overview

Selis Academy is seeking a

Martial Arts Instructor

to join our team. This role will be key in helping students develop discipline, confidence, and physical fitness through martial arts. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a variety of martial arts styles and will be passionate about providing an engaging, safe, and empowering learning environment for students of all ages.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging martial arts lessons tailored to students of varying ages and skill levels. Teach fundamental techniques, self-defense skills, and martial arts principles while emphasizing respect, discipline, and focus. Monitor student progress and provide personalized feedback to support growth and skill development. Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters teamwork, confidence, and personal development. Ensure the safety and well-being of students during classes by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Organize and participate in events such as tournaments, demonstrations, and belt testing to track students' achievements. Collaborate with other staff to integrate martial arts into the overall enrichment program at Selis Academy. Stay current with best practices in martial arts instruction and continually refine teaching methods.

Requirements

Proven experience as a martial arts instructor, with proficiency in one or more martial arts disciplines. Strong knowledge of martial arts techniques, principles, and philosophies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. Passion for martial arts and commitment to fostering students' personal growth, fitness, and well-being. Ability to create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students. Certification in martial arts (black belt or equivalent) and any relevant instructor qualifications. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
