The Marketing Strategist is a key member of a team of professionals who advance NAIT's goals through centralized and coordinated marketing and communications. They play a critical role in driving the institution's success in several high priority areas of NAIT's Strategic Plan, providing direct marketing support to the brand, reputation and recruitment/business goals of the institution.
Marketing Strategists are skilled marketers and excellent relationship builders. They are trusted advisors for their internal clients because of their thorough understanding of the clients' business and priorities, ability to bring an external/marketing perspective to their operating teams and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities that help achieve business outcomes while advancing and protecting NAIT brand and reputation. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, this position works closely with internal stakeholders (AVP's, executive directors, deans, directors, chairs, managers, other departments, students, committees and co-workers) and external contacts (media partners, agencies and other partner/community organizations). The Marketing Strategist is responsible for project intake from their client areas into the department and works with other M&C leaders/units to plan resources effectively for the projects they are leading. They are trained in agile marketing practices and skilled at complex project management.
To succeed in this role, you will work in a creative, collaborative environment to support NAIT's overall strategy, annual business plans, student recruitment and revenue generation goals. You will perform in a fast-paced, agile environment to guide marketing projects from planning, brainstorming and concept through to design, implementation and measurement. You will be a key player in executing B2B, B2C and B2i campaigns by leveraging NAIT's full marketing technology stack. Your strong technical expertise and know-how in lead generation strategies, conversion rate optimization, SEO, digital and social advertising, email marketing, content marketing, web development, and analytics and insights will help NAIT reach goals in terms of enrolment targets, revenue generation, and brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development, Project Planning, and Client Management
Provides strategic marketing counsel, including identifying opportunities, analyzing challenges and seeking creative solutions. Become a member of the client's leadership team and be the SME within the Marketing and Communications Department for the client area.
Decipher business challenges/opportunities and advising on the marketing solution/strategy and considering brand and reputation risks in the external environment.
Work closely with internal clients to build integrated marketing and lead generation programs to support existing and new opportunities.
Audit current marketing strategies and work with clients to identify target audiences, objectives, key messages and uses best practice to achieve strategic marketing goals.
Leverage existing data and information on personas, customer journeys and segmenting target audiences in order to deliver personalized marketing and brand experiences.
Operate with a design-thinking mindset, put yourself in the shoes of our students, customers and end-users in order to engage them seamlessly across all marketing touch points.
Seek, analyze and apply market research to inform projects and campaigns.
Identifies opportunities across paid, earned and owned media that support NAIT's business goals.
Write strategic marketing plans, identifying trends to ensure competitive positioning.
Manage project and marketing budgets effectively.
Execution and Optimization
Lead the execution of digital marketing plans, leveraging the power of automation and AI across various platforms for: display and programmatic advertising, search (SEM, SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing.
Coordinate with our external media buying partner in the execution of traditional marketing tactics that include out-of-home advertising (billboards, transit, etc.), print, radio, and audio.
Coordinate and bring together cross-functional teams as needed. Work closely with web, brand and communications colleagues, to maintain quality control and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Critically analyze and optimize digital marketing campaigns and strategies to ensure budgets are spent to maximize ROI, target audiences are reached, and measurable impact on goals is achieved.
Leverage data to deliver precision marketing to maximize audience engagement.
Copywrite and edit for a variety of media including email marketing, promotional materials and advertising.
Frequently and consistently review in-market campaigns to optimize performance.
Reporting and Analysis
Monitor and deliver real time insights into opportunities that improve our KPIs (leads, conversions, add to carts, application submissions, etc.), inform new marketing processes, and optimize digital operations.
Develop attribution models for measuring digital marketing activities by implementing tracking pixels and integration with reporting platforms.
Be an expert in data and analytics with extensive use of various tools (Ex: Google Studio, Google Analytics, and native social media platforms) and applications that allow you to access, prioritize, manipulate, and mine data as well as display and communicate insights.
Shares findings with multiple stakeholders and uses information in making data-driven recommendations.
Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to project manage complex initiatives and maintain strong, positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and ability to gather information, analyze problems, and advise on potential solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work closely with clients and manage multiple projects end-to-end. Coordinate the formation of cross-functional teams and lead them to completing projects.
Demonstrated experience setting up paid and automated digital marketing campaigns for prospective student and customer acquisition with a clear understanding of content marketing and inbound marketing.
Ability to copywrite and create content across a variety of mediums including promotional materials, webpages, advertising assets, and email marketing. Create content with an audience-centric mindset and be able to deliver key messages in a clear and concise manner that will resonate with target audiences.
Experience using personalization, behavioral data and customer segmentation for marketing strategies.
Be a fast learner with great verbal and written communication skills.
Strong foundational understanding of privacy legislation and cybersecurity.
Experience developing and executing multi-touch marketing campaigns with a marketing mix of digital, social, email marketing, out-of-home, print, and audio.
Experience setting up paid advertising campaigns on platforms such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Experience with setting up Google search and display ads.
Experience with creating engaging and effective email marketing campaigns.
Experience or knowledge of SEO best practices.
Google Ads Certifications is an asset.
Knowledge of Agile Methodology is an asset.
Qualifications:
Possesses a bachelor's degree or diploma in business, marketing, communications or a related field. A combination of marketing experience and education will be considered.
Minimum 5 years of marketing and advertising experience, with experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans across a variety of platforms.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $82,189.64 - $108,886.96 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
