Marketing Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate
Marketing Specialist
to lead and execute our outreach and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, content creation, outreach campaigns, and serving as the first point of contact for public inquiries. The Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Program Director and community partners to increase awareness, drive enrollment, and and increase sales across various platforms.
This is a
permanent part-time
position, starting at
10-15 hours per week
, with potential to grow based on performance and program needs.
Duties
Develop and execute 3-6 month marketing and outreach plans aligned with strategic goals.
Create, schedule, and manage social media content across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
Coordinate and maintain marketing calendars, campaigns, and promotions.
Conduct community outreach to schools, parents, and organizations to increase visibility and partnerships.
Respond to all inbound phone calls, emails, and inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the Program Director on marketing strategy, branding, and new campaign initiatives.
Liaise with the City of Vancouver Program Planning team to assess community needs and program demand.
Assist with planning and attending promotional events, open houses, and weekend workshops as needed.
Track marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies based on results.
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Create engaging content for various channels, including websites (WordPress), email newsletters, and social media platforms.
Analyze campaign performance using Google Analytics and other tools to optimize future marketing efforts.
Oversee Facebook Advertising campaigns to maximize reach and engagement.
Collaborate with product management teams to align marketing initiatives with product launches.
Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to design visually appealing marketing materials.
Monitor budgets for marketing campaigns and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with social media management tools and content creation (e.g., Canva, Meta Business Suite).
Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with community programming or educational services is a plus.
Bilingual (English + another language) is an asset.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
Must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends for events or outreach.
Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Advertising, and email marketing platforms.
Familiarity with HTML is a plus for website management tasks.
Experience with WordPress for content management is preferred.
Excellent research skills to inform strategic decisions.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Creative mindset with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for design tasks.
