AECOM is seeking a Senior Proposal Specialist to be based in Calgary, AB; or Edmonton, AB; or Burnaby, BC; with alternate locations in Markham, ON or Mississauga, ON.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building\'s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Buildings + Places (B+P) Marketing Team Lead, you will work in close collaboration with the B+P marketing team, as well as all other pursuit and marketing function teams across Canada.

Your primary responsibility is to lead and coordinate the production of proposals and marketing material in response to formal client requests for B+P Business Line proposals.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include - but are not limited to - the following:

  • Lead/coordinate responses to requests for proposals and expressions of interest, external questionnaires, and statements of qualifications. Lead small to medium complexity submissions and assist on complex and strategic high-level submissions across Canada, including priorities in Western Canada.
  • Partner with the Capture Team to develop Capture Plans and strategies for top pursuits, including conducting industry research and competitive analysis.
  • Lead proposal pursuit teams, facilitate proposal meetings (Go/NoGo conversations); and conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with RFP requirements and corporate brand.
  • Develop and manage the pursuit delivery schedule.
  • Produce documents in MS Office Suite (required) or ADOBE Creative Suite (preferred) which includes InDesign and other applications.
  • Lead the writing of proposal sections such as executive summaries, past performance, management approaches, and resume/staffing for major pursuits.
  • Lead, coordinate and/or serve as a reviewer for formal reviews (pink, red, gold) or as compliance reviewer on major pursuits.
  • Coordinate debrief meetings and gathering of Client feedback on proposals to support continuous improvement.
  • Lead/coordinate the strategy and preparation of presentation and interview materials.
  • Support Capture Managers and Project Managers to update Salesforce opportunity records and track progress of assigned opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Support the maintenance of marketing information in the Salesforce system (such as resumes and project sheets) in collaboration with the Knowledge Management/Systems group.
  • Contribute to internal training on topics related to core processes, tools, practices, or other special topics, as needed.
  • Implement and facilitate the proposal marketing process in all pursuits.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Communications group regarding marketing collateral, including print materials, presentations, and social media, online content, as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business or a related field + four (4) years of relevant experience working in Marketing within the consulting engineering industry or professional services marketing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six (6) to eight (8) + years of experience in Proposals Marketing, preparing proposals within the architecture and consulting engineering industry or professional services preferred.
  • Knowledge of marketing procedures, document and presentation production methods, proposal processes/proposal quality, and business development in professional services.
  • A creative-minded individual
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong document layout skills required.
  • A self-starter who will collaborate with the team, adapt to a rapidly changing and competitive environment, and prioritize and multi-task in high pressure environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills that will be highly utilized in this dynamic and professional business environment.
  • Ability to independently manage a varying workload, including schedule and resource management.
  • Experience and high proficiency preferred in Adobe InDesign and MS Word layouts. Experience in PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint is an asset.
  • A keen attention to detail that allows you to work efficiently in a busy and deadline driven work environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience in/knowledge of P3/Alterative Delivery pursuits is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $85,000.
