The Marketing Manager is responsible for transitioning a key global marketing and commercialization plan into a regional commercial launch. From a downstream marketing perspective, this position will work with RLM Americas Portfolio Leader and the OU Marketing leads to align on key strategies and to ensure execution of fiscal plan while identifying and supporting market development/business development initiatives. Within the span of responsibility, the Marketing Manager will also ensure regular alignment to the global portfolio strategy; will assess and help to build/expand functional capabilities while serving as the regional conduit for global marketing; and will plan, lead, and complete the marketing for the product portfolio.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s).
  • Leads and coordinates product planning, product launches, product management, market development and market research activities.
  • Interacts directly with product managers to identify new marketing opportunities.
  • Works individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion.
  • Identifies unmet customer requirements and new business opportunities and provides vision and focus to move products from idea to market place.
  • Facilitates and coordinates marketing activities with geographic areas to increase teamwork and build partnerships.
  • Responsibilities may also include: coordinating trade show activities, website development, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.
  • Grow and support the assigned Medtronic\xe2\x80\x99s products with specific Marketing initiatives
  • Partner with the sales organization for coordination and the execution of targeting the right customers.
  • Plan and coordinate the development and implementation of both tactical and strategic direction to maximize profitable growth of all products in Canada.
  • Recommend pricing strategies, training of sales personnel (product specific only), market introductions, the development and implementation of all related marketing programs, develop promotional activities, budgeting for assigned portfolio, and provide marketing support for clinical trials
  • Plan - Develop annual operating plans for the assigned portfolio ensuring long range plans are linked to fiscal performance goals.
  • Analysis of the market, competition, environment, sales and marketing strategies and marketing expense budget.
  • Review progress against AOP on quarterly basis and revise plans or institute corrective action as appropriate.
  • Customer Relationships - Meet with customers to discuss market, products, trends and their pain points and unmet needs to form deep customer understanding.
  • Address customer requests for Medtronic involvement or assistance in projects.
  • Marketing Research & Sales Analysis - Initiate, manage and summarize market research and studies to determine customer beliefs.
  • Initiate and analyze account statistics to determine market trends and competitive status at the customer and national level.
  • Advise management of market trends.
  • Initiate and maintain a competitive product database of pricing, availability and product information
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Previous product launch or product line extension experience.
  • Managed a comprehensive product that has shown measurable success.
  • Experience in medical products or pharmaceutical sales.
  • Market research, new product development or clinical research experience.
