Marketing Manager



Full-time In person

The marketing manager sets the directions and ensures the execution of activities to increase awareness of District 3 locally and globally. They are responsible for advancing the D3 presence through the development and implementation of a marketing strategy that clearly articulates D3 values, goals and offerings. They are responsible for establishing a system and road map to amplify D3's impact and recognition within Montreal, Canada and beyond. On top of the strategic management of D3's brand, the marketing manager is equally responsible for leading the marketing and communications team to effectively manage long-term and day-day marketing initiatives. All this fosters the advancement of the D3 mission and position as a preeminent incubator with a focus in Montreal, in Quebec, and in Canada. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys transforming ideas into engaging stories.

What You'll Do



Co-develops with senior management the D3 strategy and carries out its implementation to clearly articulate D3 values, goals and offerings with current and potential targets. Creates and ensures the maintenance of a system for both internal and external communication, ensuring a unified brand voice across all marketing touchpoints. Builds brand awareness for D3 and its activities through both traditional and new information delivery outlets to internal and external stakeholders. Oversees the collection, interpretation and dissemination of marketing analytics- including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR. Trains staff and volunteers to talk on behalf of D3, providing the knowledge and language to articulate its organization's values, vision and direction confidently. Manages D3's active ecosystem presence, website content and communicates necessary updates regularly through newsletters and outreach - utilizing best practices to achieve maximum reach and engagement with target audiences and demographics. Oversees content, design, production, and dissemination of D3 reports (monthly, yearly) to internal D3 members, Concordia and other stakeholders. Supports and implements co-branding partnerships with District 3 partners in the Montreal startup ecosystem. Prepares talking points, speeches, presentations, reports, and other supporting material as needed by the directors and managers of District 3 (ex: D3 annual reports). Presents District 3's initiatives to external stakeholders during visits or when appropriate. Ensures content/deliverable revisions and provides feedback to empower the marketing & communications team to deliver high-quality content while upholding deadlines

What We're Looking For



Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to the primary responsibilities 5+ years of experience in the marketing & communications field Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities. Ability to monitor marketing analytics and iterate on strategy accordingly with a reflex for problem solving. Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to set individual and team priorities. Strong leadership, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills, (verbal and written), and ability to animate and coordinate teams in both young entrepreneur and professional executive type contexts. Comfort with public speaking and presenting. Experience training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel. Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams, with tenacity to drive through results. Excellent time management, ability to balance many projects and commitments at once. Excellent spoken and written English (level 5) to communicate effectively with startups, faculty, staff, students, and the external community. Good spoken and written French (level 4) to communicate effectively and to provide detailed, complex information. Superior ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and discretion. Demonstrated flexibility and proactivity in staff and client approach. Good knowledge of Word/Google Docs (to format correspondence, documents, and reports), and Excel/Google Sheets (to input and update metrics). Demonstrated ability to be autonomous, plan processes and manage projects within established deadlines and parameters. Excellent attention to detail.
