The Role

The Marketing Team plays a pivotal role at Mackenzie by leading the development of effective digital media plans and strategies that are aligned to company goals, objectives, and strategies. The Manager, Media Strategy is responsible for providing planning and strategic support in the development of Mackenzie\xe2\x80\x99s annual paid media plan.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Translate business objectives into strategic marketing plans focused on paid media channels.
  • Develops recommendations based on the unique needs of each target audience, while increasing value and efficiency.
  • Development of creative briefs working in partnership with product or channel marketing.
  • Briefing partner agency on strategic implementation needs and roles of specific communication channels.
  • Lead operational processes to facilitate marketing campaigns such as compliance review, material creation, and quality improvement.
  • Generate innovative ideas to promote investment products through leveraging the company through paid digital channels.
  • As part of campaign development, work with internal partners to develop the digital journey.
  • Coordinate across internal teams including product marketing, brand strategy, channel and segment marketing, compliance, creative agency, and media buying partner to tactical execute on all media campaigns.
  • Generate innovative ideas to promote investment products through leveraging the company through paid digital channels.
  • Partner with digital analytics and media buying agency to measure the effectiveness of marketing investment and find opportunities and actions to improve campaign performance and impact.
  • Stay on top of the current standard methodologies, trends, and technologies for paid media platforms.
Requirements
  • An understanding of the digital media ecosystem inclusive of data, programmatic, social, and mobile, with a solid understanding of search (SEO/SEM).
  • Working knowledge of ad operations (tagging, ad serving).
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian financial services landscape and its unique parameters.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, asset categories and/or investment product experience is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and present concise creative briefs, reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to measure content performance and optimize strategies accordingly.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of visual design principals.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills at multiple levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A track record of results in paid media campaigns.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and Hootsuite.
Education
  • A University degree with an emphasis on Marketing, Business Administration or Economics.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in digital communication, marketing, advertising, journalism, or related field.
  • MBA considered an asset.
