Job Description


:Working with the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for the Estee Lauder brand in Canada this role will focus on the planning and execution of all marketing programs and plans; ensuring alignment with the North America marketing objectives to increase sales, grow market share and improve profitability.As the marketplace continues to evolve, this role and any decision-making must reflect a comprehensive understanding of the changing consumer, customer landscape and media environment and how the brand evolves with each.The Marketing Manager will:

  • Manage the Product, Trade and Consumer marketing activities for the brand
  • Build and maintain close Retailer relationships and work with the Director of Marketing to create a program cadence for each retail partner
  • Build and maintain close relationships with Canadian and NOAM counterparts and interdepartmental teams to ensure alignment with NOAM strategy and planning
  • Be an analytical and strategic thinker to balance program planning and execution with post program reporting and analysis
ACCOUNTABILITIESProduct Marketing:
  • \xc2\xb7 Working closely with the Marketing Director and Planning team, align to forecasts for all new initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 launch and promotional
  • \xc2\xb7 Responsible for planning, forecasting, and monthly management of all sample, collateral, and non-saleable promotional forecasts
  • \xc2\xb7 Liaise with both local and NOAM Planning and Operations teams to ensure consistent follow-up on all projects for on-time shipment of collateral, samples and promotional materials to support marketing programs
  • \xc2\xb7 Leverage available NPD data to develop and form strategic decisions
  • \xc2\xb7 Partner with Marketing Director on category reviews for the pertinent segments of business which involves thorough research on Canadian trends, competition, and consumer dynamics. Requires analysis, identification of opportunities and strategic recommendations
  • \xc2\xb7 Point person for category information: pricing and competitive analysis
  • \xc2\xb7 Support the Marketing Director in the analysis and execution of annual price increase
  • \xc2\xb7 Oversee the revision of seasonal order forms
  • \xc2\xb7 Work with Corporate Visual Team, NOAM and global counterparts to plan, brief, produce and deliver Visual merchandising assets as required for new launches and new door openings \xe2\x80\x93 creating locally when required
Trade Marketing:
  • \xc2\xb7 Primary liaison with NOAM Marketing team to align strategies and leverage programming where appropriate and applicable
  • \xc2\xb7 Participate in all NOAM Marketing calls to ensure a timely flow of information on U.S. strategies and any updates/changes that will affect/impact Canadian planning
  • \xc2\xb7 Partner with retailers to develop and implement trade marketing programs specific to their environment \xe2\x80\x93 requires knowledge of retailer levers, loyalty programs, COOP programs, VIP opportunities, etc
  • \xc2\xb7 Leverage Retailer CRM data to understand consumer insights and make strategic decisions
  • \xc2\xb7 Support and participate in all Retail Partner meetings/calls to align and track upcoming event, promo, launch, advertising information and support
  • \xc2\xb7 Review and approve all Retailer COOP advertising programs in conjunction with Marketing Director
  • \xc2\xb7 Maintain tracking results from campaigns and events
  • \xc2\xb7 Create an ROI tracking system
  • \xc2\xb7 Manage Retail calendars
  • \xc2\xb7 Create Seasonal Presentations for both Retailers & Field
  • \xc2\xb7 Support weekly calls with local Field Sales and other cross functional teams to manage communication flow and updates
Consumer Marketing:
  • \xc2\xb7 Support Marketing Director on national media strategy and briefings; collaborate with Corporate Consumer Engagement Team and NOAM ECOM on business insights and alignment
  • \xc2\xb7 Primary program lead for media agency partner for day-to-day projects
  • \xc2\xb7 Responsible for all upper funnel programs, including creation of localized assets and upload to support media plans
  • \xc2\xb7 Manage retailer co-op programs with the collaboration & support of the ecommerce team
  • \xc2\xb7 Work closely with the Marketing Director and PR Team on related activities and initiatives for the market
  • Finance:
  • \xc2\xb7 Manage and maintain planning and monthly tracking of Fiscal budget, including working with finance and retailers to confirm spend, deductions, accuracy, etc.
  • \xc2\xb7 Reconcile month end charges with Marketing Director to ensure accuracy of the budget and latest estimates
Market Engagement:
  • \xc2\xb7 Maintain current awareness of competitive activity in the retail environment, through print, digital and social platforms
  • \xc2\xb7 Awareness of digital & social media executions for the brand and those engaged within the brand (i.e., EMV etc.)
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS\xc2\xb7 Post-Secondary degree/diploma required\xc2\xb7 5+ years relevant work experience; preferably in the cosmetic /prestige industry\xc2\xb7 Excellent team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships\xc2\xb7 Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with un-prompted follow-through\xc2\xb7 Possesses strong digital and social media skills with a strong understanding of media planning best practices\xc2\xb7 Consumer-first, data-driven mindset\xc2\xb7 Strong written and verbal communication skills\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate complex ideas and processes in a simplified manner\xc2\xb7 Strong planning and organizational skills\xc2\xb7 Possesses strong skills in strategy and planning, budget management, merchandising, and marketing\xc2\xb7 Creative, analytical thinker and creative problem solver and thrive in fast paced environment\xc2\xb7 Advanced computer skills\xc2\xb7 Experience with Specialty Multi Channel (Sephora/Shoppers Drug Mart) preferredThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $86,400 to $129,600. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
