Marketing Manager to lead the next evolution of our brand and digital presence.

About the Role



The Marketing Manager will be the driving force behind Capital BBQ's brand growth, customer engagement, and digital strategy across both retail and eCommerce channels.

You'll develop and execute a modern, integrated marketing plan combining brand storytelling, data-driven campaigns, and innovative digital tools that inspire our customers, strengthens loyalty, and sets us apart as Canada's ultimate BBQ authority.

This isn't a behind-the-desk marketing role.

We're looking for a hands-on builder -- scrappy, strategic, and inventive who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You know how to do more with less: a resourceful marketer who thrives on creativity, clever partnerships, and the drive to make things happen. You've turned small budgets into big wins through guerrilla marketing, collaboration, and creative hustle that delivers real, measurable growth.

What You'll Do



Brand & Strategy



Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company growth goals and brand evolution. Define and maintain a consistent brand voice, identity, and market position across all platforms. Bring to life the concept of "Experience Retail", blending in-store experiences with digital engagement. Build and nurture a Capital BBQ / BBQing.com community, fostering loyalty and engagement through authentic storytelling, social initiatives, and user-driven content.


Digital Marketing & Growth



Utilize compelling media and social platforms, understanding how consumers and communities leverage them to create best-in-class, engaging marketing solutions. Lead Google Ads (Search, PMAX, Display, YouTube) and Meta campaigns, to deliver high ROI and ensure alignment with merchandising and sales strategies. Leverage AI-driven tools for advertising optimization, creative content, audience segmentation, and performance analytics.


Oversee segmented email list management and automation flows that drive engagement, recover abandoned carts, and convert shoppers into lifelong customers. Collaborate on SEO, content, and website enhancements that elevate visibility, storytelling, and conversion.


Content & Engagement



Create and deliver authentic, expert-driven BBQ content, video storytelling, and vendor collaborations that inspire and educate. Lead initiatives to increase user-generated content, including reviews, community features, and ambassador/creator collaborations. Engage directly with customers across platforms, building a responsive, community-driven social presence. Manage social media channels with consistent engagement, responsiveness, and creative campaigns that grow our audience and brand love. Leverage high-quality content, assets, and insights from key vendors and our industry association to build cohesive campaigns, enhance product education, drive engagement across all channels and reinforce brand consistency.


Partnerships & Promotions



Build and manage an influencer and creator program that partners with authentic voices chefs, pitmasters, and outdoor lifestyle creators to expand reach, inspire audiences, and drive meaningful engagement.


Build and manage strategic brand and vendor partnerships, cross-promotions, and community events. Lead in-store activations that enhance customer experience. Manage the annual promotional calendar, aligning vendor offers and brand moments. Oversee CO-OP funding and claims, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submissions.


Performance, Budget & Analytics



Manage and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring efficient spend and measurable ROI. Track and report on KPI performance (traffic, conversion, engagement, CAC, retention, ROI, etc.), using insights to inform strategy and continuous improvement. Continuously explore emerging marketing technologies, channels, and trends to keep Capital BBQ/BBQing.com at the forefront of modern marketing.

What You Bring



5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within retail, eCommerce, or consumer lifestyle brands. Proven success managing multi-channel marketing campaigns that deliver growth and engagement. Strategic yet hands-on marketing mindset comfortable switching between creative ideation and execution. Deep understanding of digital advertising platforms (Google, Meta), SEO, and email automation, and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Shopify, etc.). Strong understanding of social media dynamics, community building, and platform trends. Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities. Creative, proactive, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced environment. Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
