About the Role
As the
Marketing Manager
, you will own and drive PaintScout's growth-oriented marketing strategy. This role is responsible for turning our product, customer outcomes, and story into clear demand, pipeline, and brand momentum. This is not a role focused on "doing everything." It's about
choosing the right initiatives, executing them well, and delivering measurable results
. You'll work closely with sales, product, and customer success to ensure marketing efforts are aligned, focused, and impactful.
Responsibilities
Growth & Demand Generation
Own and execute lead generation strategy across key channels (organic, paid, partnerships, events, etc.).
Optimize the funnel from first touch through long-term customer advocacy.
Collaborate closely with sales to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
Test, measure, and iterate marketing initiatives quickly based on performance data.
Messaging & Positioning
Clearly define who PaintScout is for -- and who it's not.
Ensure consistent messaging across the website, ads, sales materials, and product.
Translate real customer outcomes into simple, compelling stories.
Maintain clarity and value-driven messaging (no buzzwords).
Content & Education
Oversee creation of educational content that builds trust with contractors.
Align content with the buyer journey (awareness ? consideration ? decision).
Support thought leadership while staying focused on conversion.
Ensure all content reflects the PaintScout voice and values.
Sales Enablement
Equip sales with effective tools, including:
Sales decks
Case studies
One-pagers
Competitive positioning materials
Create tight feedback loops with sales to improve messaging and performance.
Systems, Metrics & Execution
Build and maintain clear marketing KPIs and dashboards.
Track performance and report insights to leadership.
Prioritize initiatives based on impact and ROI.
Manage marketing budget responsibly.
Key Metrics You'll Own
Marketing-sourced pipeline
Cost per lead / cost per opportunity
Lead-to-demo conversion rate
Website and landing page conversion rates
Campaign ROI
Full customer lifecycle performance (first touch ? evangelist)
Brand clarity and consistency (qualitative and quantitative)
Qualifications
Experience in
B2B SaaS marketing
, growth marketing, or demand generation.
Proven ability to own outcomes, not just activities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into action.
Clear, confident communicator across teams and stakeholders.
Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated.
Comfortable prioritizing and saying "no" to low-impact work.
Passion for technology, growth, and helping small businesses succeed.
Ability to understand and relate to the contractor experience.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience working closely with sales teams in a SaaS environment.
Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools.
Experience in the home services, contracting, or trades industries.
Experience managing agencies or external contributors.
Event, partnership, or community-based marketing experience.
