YWCA Banff is seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager to lead multi-channel communications that elevate our profile and drive meaningful community impact. As a key member of our team, you'll inspire action and engagement through strategic campaigns, compelling storytelling, and values-aligned events that support our mission to advance gender equity and end gender-based violence. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development & Communications, this leadership role offers the opportunity to shape public perception, support donor engagement, and work within a purpose-driven, inclusive organization with over a century of community leadership.
What You'll Do
:
Strategic Communications & Campaign Management
In collaboration with the Director, develop and implement an integrated, multi-channel marketing and communications strategy aligned with YWCA Banff's mission and organizational priorities.
Lead the creation of compelling, values-based messaging for fundraising campaigns, advocacy campaigns, events, and stakeholder communications.
Collaborate with the Director of Resource Development and Communications to support campaign development, brand management, and strategic storytelling.
Ensure message consistency across all platforms and target audiences including but not limited to, website, emails, traditional and digital media, social platforms, direct mail and print collateral.
Analyse communication performance metrics and optimize strategies accordingly.
Build and distribute the quarterly external newsletter, regular internal communications, annual impact report, other internal and external documents as required
Support the CEO and Resource Development team with mission-focused communications to further donor relations
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise and mentor the Creative Coordinator, supporting their professional growth and creative output.
Foster a collaborative team culture rooted in women-centred leadership, integrity, and adaptability.
Collaborate cross-departmentally to support program communications, advocacy events, and internal messaging.
Event Planning & Stakeholder Engagement
Plan and manage the execution of fundraising and community engagement events, including but not limited to: VINEart, Change Makers, Banff Marathon and the Charity Classic.
Create and manage event plans for all events. Lead post-event evaluations and integrate feedback into future planning.
Collaborate with colleagues and external partners; manage committees and volunteers to execute exceptional donor and community experiences.
Budget Oversight & Administration
Manage the Marketing budget in alignment with strategic goals and organizational priorities.
Monitor expenditures and conduct monthly variance analyses to ensure financial accountability.
Prepare reports for the Director and contribute to Board reporting and the Annual Impact Report.
Ensure effective project planning in the communications team, resulting in project delivery on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Experience:
Specific skills and knowledge qualifications include but are not limited to:
Minimum 3-5 years in a marketing, communications, or fundraising-related role, with demonstrated leadership experience.
Exceptional copywriting and proofing skills, with a proven ability to craft engaging, values-aligned content.
Demonstrated experience managing teams and mentoring direct reports.
Proven track record of developing and executing communications strategies and events.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to anticipate project needs and manage priorities in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Experienced in digital marketing, social media and website management
Financial literacy, including budgeting and variance reporting.
Preferred:
Strong passion for women's rights and gender equity.
Experience in a non-profit, community-based, or women-centred organization.
Media or spokesperson trained.
Proficiency with Canva, Mailchimp, Monday, Adobe Creative Suite and CRMs.
Understanding of the complex issues related to gender equity, housing insecurity, and gender-based violence.
Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail.
Highly collaborative and solution focused.
Position Details
Flexibility and work-from-home options are part of the culture at YWCA Banff. The Marketing Manager is a full-time, year-round position at 37.5 hours per week with a salary range of: $63,000 - $74,000. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site work including meetings and regular workdays in the Bow Valley.? Additionally, some evening and weekend hours for events (with advanced notice) will be required.
