Core Responsibilities

People & Team Development: embed and sustain a culture of collaboration & motivation within an impactful Canada marketing team. Support team capability building and talent development through targeted development plans, feedback and ongoing coaching. Upskill the team in OESP and digital marketing.

Leading a team of 7 employees across brand management, Retail and Trade marketing, brand relations and events.

Deliver strong brand and product demand to support achieving/exceeding the consumer sales target in Canada through best-in-class consumer marketing, partnerships and innovation.

Demonstrates strong leadership and collaboration across functions within the Business Unit and the Leadership Team to implement flawless end-to-end business planning and execution. Be an influencer and collaborator with Regional Marketing team to drive value.

Activate the Global marketing tool box with local consumer insights, shopper knowledge and market knowledge.

Planning & Execution of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Marketing Strategy: delivery of market share and active consumer objectives through marketing activation that uniquely resonates with Canadian consumers & shoppers, while consistent with the global brand framework, and the Americas commercial plan.

Improve equity, awareness and desire for the LEGO\xc2\xae brand in Canada growing advocacy, engagement and lifetime value.

Create an agile marketing culture that acts on insights and responds fast to changing market dynamics.

Oversees the P&L for the department: budgets & manages Marketing expenses in line with targets and trackable return on investment.

The Marketing Department at is a dynamic and innovative team responsible for LEGO Canada\xe2\x80\x99s marketing strategy development, campaign planning and execution across consumer, trade and in-store marketing, with the aim to strengthen LEGO brand equity, consumer penetration and to drive business growth.

As the Marketing Director, you will play a crucial part in the Americas Marketing Leadership Team, embracing collaboration with internal and external partners, which are mainly Regional and Global Marketing teams as well as customers and agency partners. As part of the Canada Leadership Team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Operations, and LEGO Retail to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives, including a specific focus on developing and driving an Owned, Earned, Shared and Paid (OESP) Marketing Strategy for LEGO Canada. By applying your expertise, you will amplify the LEGO brand messaging across various channels, enhance brand exposure, and drive active consumer base growth.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll lead a team of 7 experienced marketers, contributing to the company\'s success in inspiring creativity, imagination, and the joy of building in children and adults alike. By effectively connecting the LEGO brand with its target audience, including newcomers to Canada, you will play a vital role in fostering a strong and lasting relationship between the organization and its customers.

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum 8 years of marketing experience and strong track record on business performance and significant people and team leadership experience within the Marketing function. A demonstrable track record of contributing to the growth of a high profile, brand-led consumer goods company.

Highly skilled in Digital Marketing and eCommerce, agency management, Marketing optimization and enhancing owned, earned and shared opportunities.

Proven success in leading and developing a team. The candidate will be an inspiring, energetic leader who has a passion for brands and leads by example.

Strong track record in driving meaningful innovation. Has demonstrated a willingness to take calculated risks and agility in responding to the changing external landscape.

A commercial mindset, should be persistent, self-motivated and highly driven, with a can-do mentality.

Have a strong passion for working across functions (sales, marketing, operations and leadership teams). Able to embrace matrix organization set-up.

Experience in Brand Marketing and agency management

Proficiency in Trade Marketing and in-store execution

Working knowledge of driving brand engagement through PR and events

Budget and P&L management experience

Experience in Public Relations and amplifying brands through partnerships and external opportunities preferred

Fluency in French a plus!
