We are looking for a
Marketing & Design Specialist
who is equally skilled in crafting high-quality creative as they are in building positive relationships with our franchisees. This is a unique role that blends hands-on design with client service, project management, and creative problem-solving.
About the Role
You'll work closely with our internal marketing team and our franchise partners to deliver creative assets that drive business results. This isn't just a design role -- you'll manage projects from concept through completion, guiding communication, approvals, and timelines.
You're someone who enjoys both sides of the work: creating compelling, on-brand visuals
and
ensuring communication is smooth, timelines are met, and clients feel heard and supported.
What You'll Do
Graphic Design (70%)
Create original, on-brand creative assets across digital and print channels: social media, menus, promotional signage, email, print ads, in-store materials, etc.
Edit and adapt existing templates or campaigns with precision and attention to detail.
Ensure all creative aligns with brand standards, meets technical requirements (CMYK/RGB, file types, resolution), and is production-ready.
Collaborate with internal teams on creative briefs and campaign development.
Marketing Project Management (30%)
Act as the primary point of contact for franchisees on creative marketing requests.
Gather project details, provide recommendations, manage timelines, and communicate updates proactively.
Guide projects from intake through approvals to final delivery.
Build strong relationships with franchise owners and help them achieve their local marketing goals while protecting the integrity of the Smitty's brand.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Creative, Marketing, Operations).
What You Bring
2+ years
in a hybrid design/account management or project management role, preferably in a franchised or multi-location environment.
A strong portfolio demonstrating both creative design work (digital & print) and an understanding of brand consistency.
Exceptional communication skills -- written, verbal, and visual.
Confident managing client expectations, feedback, and approvals.
Proficient in
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
and
Canva
.
Solid understanding of design principles: typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual identity systems.
Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple projects with competing priorities.
A collaborative mindset -- you enjoy working with people as much as you enjoy working on creative.
Nice to Have
Experience working with franchisees or in a franchise business model.
Familiarity with restaurant or hospitality marketing.
Knowledge of basic marketing principles and tactics beyond design.
Additional Details
Part-Time, Contract
(25-30 hours per week)
