Marketing Coordinator - 12 Month Contract
UMC: The Territory
The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will provide support to the Marketing department and will contribute to a positive work environment with an emphasis on a 'team' concept. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative and energetic people leader with a passion for music. Core functions involve supporting the Marketing team's efforts in the development and management of artist brand strategy campaigns to increase awareness, fan engagement, and consumption around an artist's body of work.
How You'll Lead:
Working with A&R, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure domestic audio and videos are properly scheduled
Ensure product changes are communicated to Operations & Streaming Teams in a timely manner
Manage agendas and notes for artist and department meetings
Conduct weekly comprehensive digital growth audits for select domestic artists
Analyze and report on follower growth, engagement rates, and creates across all platforms
Surface top performing content to social account reps for surfacing to our commercial partners
Ensure greenlisting for all releases delivered through supply chain, prevent content blocking for artist and creator posts
Coordinate with global teams to resolve video blocking issues and facilitate content unblocking
Manage weekly lyric synchronization for new Friday releases through UMC Musixmatch dashboard ensuring rapid turnaround for lyric publication
Execute strategic pitching of upcoming releases to YouTube promo channels via The District
Support in the execution of Submithub campaigns
Coordinate the social teaser submission process, collecting all assets and required information, including timecodes with management & internal teams.
Handle audio editing and manual export processes using master files and specified timecodes
Add teaser tracks to Co:Brand system for pre-release create tracking and coordinate linking of unreleased tracks with official releases to consolidate performance data
Create and manage Linkfires
Manage new project and budget requests via Uniport.
Process invoices and work with internal stakeholders to ensure payments go out in a timely manner.
Coordinate new vendor setup and onboarding processes
Submit advertising tickets and provide assets, links and PO's required to execute campaigns.
Advertising Reporting, generate custom spend/non-spend dashboards via Clarisights in partnership with the Advertising team.
Manage artist website maintenance and updates for recent releases
Coordinate newsletter campaign execution with management teams
Manage copy development and asset collection processes
Collaborate with Audience Dev team for revision management and campaign finalization
Coordinate Laylo drop campaign development with management teams
Pre-Save - Coordinate Mira pre-save platform reskinning requests
Verify URI/ISRC linking for rolling pre-save functionality
Schedule and manage YouTube Shorts posting for assigned artists to ensure cross-platform content distribution from existing social media channels to maximize reach
Support in-person events and activations with tasks including vendor solicitation and management, guest list management, meet & greet facilitation and misc jobs as needed
Assist with the coordination of employee ticketbox
Other duties as assigned
What You Bring:
1-2 years of marketing experience in the music entertainment industry
Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, music, media and/or entertainment
Knowledgeable about how the music business operates and about the evolving digital & streaming landscape
Ability to work within assigned budgets & timelines
Exceptional communication skills, organizational, planning and priority setting skills
Proficiency in Photoshop and Premier for photo and video editing is an asset
