Marketing Coordinator



Employer: DRIFTWOOD RESTAURANT LTD (Head Office / Core Member)

Term: Permanent, Full-time

Working Hours: 35.0 Hours/Week

Salary: $58,000 - $62,000 yearly

Work Location: 4711 Rutherford Rd, Nanaimo, BC, Canada V9T 5S5 (island travel may require)

DRIFTWOOD RESTAURANT LTD. is the core member of the Driftwood Restaurant Group on Vancouver Island. Our group is currently in a phase of dynamic expansion, with a diverse portfolio that includes five authentic Chinese food buffet restaurants and one Western dining establishment. We are now preparing our sixth Chinese food buffet which is scheduled to open in January 2026. We aim to expand to ten members within the next two years. This position will be responsible for the marketing coordination of our all restaurants.

We are now looking for a creative and data-driven

Marketing Coordinator

to join our growing team. You will act as the bridge between our brand and our diverse customer base. In this role, you will manage our presence across diverse mainstream platforms, driving traffic through digital content, community engagement, and strategic local partnerships.

Key Responsibilities



Market Research & Strategy



Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, competitor activities, and the interests of our target demographics (both Local Canadian and Asian communities).

Analyze marketing metrics and customer feedback from various channels (Review platforms, social media, Sales Data) to provide data-driven insights to the management team.

Advise management on pricing strategies, new menu product opportunities, and sales promotion strategies based on research findings

Assess characteristics of our food and beverage products to determine the most effective marketing angles and marketing needs.

Digital Marketing, Content Creation & Social Media Management



Develop and implement distinct digital marketing strategies for diverse platforms Facebook/TikTok/Google/Little Red Note/WeChat), creating tailored visual content (photos/short videos) targeting different audience groups.

Create and lead trending topics to attract traffic; build and manage "Cloud Communities" to increase customer stickiness and loyalty.

Develop online "Mini-Promos" (e.g., Flash Sales, Limited-time offers) to attract new customers and promote new products.

Develop and organize livestream sessions to showcase menu highlights, kitchen behind-the-scenes, and brand atmosphere to increase brand exposure and build brand reputation

Manage and optimize listings on delivery apps such as UberEATS, DoorDash, Utilize platform tools to boost ranking and conversion.

Actively monitor and respond to reviews and comments on social media and review platforms and analyze customer feedback to improve service quality.

In-person Marketing Coordinating



Develop and organize special publicity events and seasonal festivals designed to promote the transition from "online engagement" to "on-site visits" for both internal and external audiences.

Identify and secure cross-industry partnerships (e.g., with local gyms, cinemas, or bubble tea shops) for mutual benefit and co-promotion.

Connect with non-profit organizations or community groups for sponsorships to enhance brand visibility and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

Prepare reports and presentations on campaign performance, offering recommendations for future marketing initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:



Education

: A university degree or college diploma in marketing, communications, or new media.

Experience

: Proven record of experience in digital marketing or social media management.

Cultural Adaptability

: Demonstrated ability to create content that appeals to both Western local culture and Asian community nuances.

Technical skills

: Proficiency with photography and video editing tools. Experience photographing both plated Western food and buffet-style settings is an asset.

Language:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required; Mandarin is a strong asset for managing the Asian media channels

Work style

: Ability to work independently and manage multiple social media accounts simultaneously.
