What you will do:

Reporting to the Marketing and Community Relations Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will support the entire Co-operative through the planning, coordination, and execution of Marketing programs to drive traffic and sales within our locations, increase our brand awareness across our trading area and spread the story of our history and community initiatives. Other duties include:

  • Help to create, execute and facilitate traditional and digital marketing campaigns, including but not limited to in-store promotions, digital advertising, promotional emails and flyers, loyalty programs and evergreen signage across our various divisions to drive traffic, increase engagement, generate leads that deliver sales and improve customer retention.
  • Copywriting on internal and external communications relating to marketing, including newsletters, memos, email marketing content, social media content, website articles and team member training materials.
  • The day-to-day administration of our websites, online location listings, reviews, and in-store digital signage.
  • The creation and design of content through Adobe Creative Suite and other tools for the purpose of marketing and promoting our brand.
  • Supporting the Marketing Specialist in creating content and ensuring that the Otter Co-op brand is present and relevant in all marketing materials presented to our guests and team members.
  • Supporting the Marketing and Community Relations Manager in executing sponsorships, donations, events, and representing both Otter Co-op and Angry Otter Liquor at relevant community events, both at our locations and around our trading area.
  • Being a brand advocate in highlighting our mission of being the Consumers\xe2\x80\x99 First Choice and guiding values of Integrity, Community and Excellence to our team members and leaders
  • Stay up to date with digital media developments.
  • Use strong writing and grammar skills to create high quality, consistent content, managing multiple content themes and channels at any given time, ensuring a dominating online presence.
  • Act reactively, imaginatively, resourcefully, and authentically to meet (sometimes competing) deadlines.
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Marketing and:
  • A minimum of one year of post-secondary education completed in a marketing field or equivalent relevant education
  • Strong written communication skills and an excellent creative eye
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required
  • Experience with Social media channels, particularly Facebook and Instagram, is required. A working knowledge of Hootsuite and Adobe Creative Cloud would be an asset
  • An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently in person and through your writing
  • Excellent understanding of contemporary digital marketing principles, strategies and best practices
  • Strong initiative and independence
  • Ability to work within a team and independently under direction from the Marketing and Community Relations Manager
  • Have a \xe2\x80\x9cMake it Happen\xe2\x80\x9d attitude and great sense of humor
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • A Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License is required, as this position requires travel within a defined area as well as travel to other locations throughout BC as required. Travel may be for events, on-location meetings, or competition checks as required.
