NAT (the Network for Applied Technology, formerly NeurAlbertaTech) is a nonprofit organization that fosters learning, collaboration, and innovation through technology. Our programs help students and early-career professionals use emerging tools to address real-world challenges.

Founded by students in 2019, NAT has engaged thousands of participants through hackathons, workshops, and partnerships across Canada and beyond.

Position Overview



The Marketing Coordinator supports NAT's marketing and communications initiatives across digital and print platforms. This role involves producing visual, written, and multimedia content for events, campaigns, and community engagement.

Working closely with the MarCom team, you'll help strengthen NAT's storytelling, brand consistency, and online presence. The ideal candidate enjoys creating engaging content, collaborating with others, and communicating ideas clearly.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation & Distribution



Draft and edit content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and event materials Maintain a consistent tone and visual style across all platforms Prepare posts, graphics, and write-ups to support program outreach Help document templates and content workflows for future campaigns

Marketing Coordination



Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns for events and initiatives Manage social media posting schedules and track engagement Design visual assets using Canva or similar tools Support data tracking and campaign performance summaries

Public Relations & External Communication



Draft press releases, media briefs, and partner updates Assist with outreach to media outlets and community partners Help monitor media coverage and community sentiment related to NAT

Process Development & Collaboration



Contribute to improving internal marketing and communications systems Maintain documentation for content planning and external outreach Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent messaging

Skills & Competencies



Strong writing and editing skills across multiple formats Clear, engaging communication style Creative thinker with attention to detail and deadlines Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects Values collaboration, clarity, and inclusivity in storytelling

Tools and Technologies



Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) Canva, Google Slides, Adobe Creative Suite (optional) Slack, Gmail, Google Meet Social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook) ClickUp or other project management tools

QualificationsRequired



Experience creating written or visual content for public or professional audiences Ability to balance multiple deadlines and maintain brand consistency Comfort working in a collaborative, hybrid team environment

Preferred



Experience with social media management or marketing campaigns Familiarity with nonprofit or educational communications Knowledge of media relations or community outreach

Working Conditions



This is a hybrid position based in Edmonton. The student is expected to work in person 1-2 days per week and be available for key project milestones.

Eligibility Requirements



Due to funding requirements, to be eligible, applicants must:

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee. Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution at the time of application and remain enrolled for at least the first thirty days of the internship.
