Location: The CORE Shopping Centre, Calgary, Alberta
Reporting To: Marketing Manager

About the CORE

The CORE is Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s only downtown shopping centre. A mixed-use property connected to three major office towers (TD Canada Trust Tower, Home Oil and Dome Tower) and the historic Lancaster Building, Connected to neighbouring retail complexes and over 150 surrounding office towers through the Plus 15 skywalk system.



Position Description

Assist the Marketing Manager, as required, on planning and execution of all advertising, sales promotion, and special events. Assist in developing correspondence with customers, retailers, office tenants and partners. Manage day to day social media communications. Maintain the filing system, handle daily reconciliation of gift cards, and other administrative tasks including tracking marketing expenses, and revenues as it relates to the marketing budget.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Provide administrative support to Marketing Manager including filing system, maintain current records of all advertising materials and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Entry and reconciliation of departmental invoices.
  • Oversee daily reconciliation of gift cards
Web Content
  • Maintain and coordinate the CORE\xe2\x80\x99s website to ensure content is up to date and accurate
  • Ensure all information on the website supports and represents the CORE brand.
  • Work with CORE tenants to post job listings, promotions, and updated store information
Reports
  • Monthly reporting of relevant website, social media, newsletter, and gift card metrics including but not limited to; pageviews, followers, reach, sales, etc.
  • Monthly reporting on the CORE\xe2\x80\x99s foot traffic to property managers, ownership groups and retailers
Social & Mobile Marketing
  • Maintain, monitor, and coordinate the CORE\xe2\x80\x99s social media accounts.
  • Create interactive opportunities with tenants and customers integrating web, mobile and social media marketing tactics.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create a monthly social media schedule.
  • Collaborate with tenants and partners to develop giveaways.
  • Management and monitoring of social media giveaway.
Newsletter and Memos
  • Consistently produce, curate, and deploy subscriber newsletter with relevant content.
  • Produce, curate, and deploy quarterly newsletters specific to retail and the individual office buildings.
  • Assist with producing, curating, and deploying marketing communications out to retail and office tenants.
In-Mall Signage
  • Coordinate production and installation of in-mall signage in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
Gift Card Program
  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop new gift card promotions while elevating existing promotions.
  • Monitor and report results for all gift card campaigns.
  • Reconciliation of monthly gift card sales details.
Mall D\xc3\xa9cor
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with holiday d\xc3\xa9cor options to support the CORE brand.
  • Oversee the installation and dismantle of d\xc3\xa9cor.
Special Events
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of centre events.
  • Help identify and implement opportunities that support the CORE brand.
Office Programs
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with VTS Activate \xe2\x80\x93 a tenant experience platform for office tower tenants to find information on events, community information, building amenities and more. Tasks are included but not limited to updating event listings, community pages, building information, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of various office tower tenant appreciation events.
Miscellaneous
  • Assist with research as required.
  • Attend weekly status meetings with the Marketing Manager.
  • Seek new opportunities to integrate the CORE website and social marketing tactics to promote the brand.
  • Assist Marketing Manager, as required on special projects related to both retail and office.
Guest Services
  • Oversee the Guest Services team including staffing, schedules, training, and supervision.
  • Coordination of quarterly team meetings.
  • Assign tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in event management, social media and marketing.
  • A high level of creativity and energy.
  • Prior experience in a marketing, advertising, and customer service environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong computer literacy: knowledge of Microsoft applications, internet/web capabilities, social media applications.
  • Social media marketing knowledge and experience.
  • Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Basic bookkeeping and record keeping skills.
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • A clean criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment
