What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a business development professional to join our Marketing team on an 18-month contract. The
Marketing & Business Development Specialist
reports to the Director of Client Communications & Development and is responsible for leading a wide variety of business development projects for practice groups and individual lawyers at the firm. These business development projects include events, sponsorships, communications campaigns, advertising campaigns and webinars.
Responsibilities:
Strategic business development planning
Developing and leading business development initiatives for practice groups and individuals at the firm
Executing business development initiatives with the assistance of others on the Marketing team
Leading projects teams and coordinating the details of business development initiatives, including events, conferences, sponsorships, communications and advertising campaigns, award nominations, webinars and presentations.
Drafting, editing and co-ordinating the production of event marketing, sponsorship and business development materials, including: invitations, advertisements, presentations, marketing materials/collateral and all elements related to marketing projects for both internal and client-facing initiatives
Finalizing firm marketing presentations for webinars, seminars and conferences
Submitting speaker proposals
Working collaboratively with the larger team to ensure all events (digital and in-person) are fully leveraged for business development purposes
Co-ordinating internal and external communications
Administrative duties include: maintaining marketing schedules, speaker proposal co-ordination, firm boilerplate and marketing material templates, as well as co-ordinating project meetings and work-back schedules
Resource for producing, supporting and configuring the technical aspects of digital marketing initiatives
Co-ordinating project-related event marketing, sponsorship and business development communication requirements
Requirements:
Three years' previous experience in a related or similar business development, marketing, event planning or communications role preferably in a law firm or other professional environment
Successful completion of a post-secondary education related to business, marketing, communication, event management or a related area
Understanding and working knowledge of digital marketing software is required (CRM, communications software, online meeting tools, website configuration, additional technology as needed)
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Basic graphic design skills are an asset
