The Opportunity



SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of a

Marketing Associate - Events Coordinator

in

Calgary, Alberta.



As the Events Coordinator, you are responsible for collaborating with college departments to plan, organize, and execute a variety of events aimed at enhancing student engagement, supporting graduates, and promoting the institution's mission. These events may include graduations, career fairs, special events, meetings, workshops and seminars. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key responsibilities



Event Planning and Coordination:

Collaborate with college departments to plan and execute events such as graduation ceremonies, alumni reunions, academic conferences, and student workshops. Develop event concepts, timelines, and budgets in alignment with institutional goals. Coordinate logistics including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and transportation.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Serve as the primary point of contact for event stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external vendors. Foster relationships with community partners to enhance event offerings and opportunities. Coordinate and develop internal events and communication.
Marketing and Promotion:

Support marketing strategies to promote events through various channels such as social media, email campaigns, and campus publications. Support the design and distribution of event-related promotional materials. Develop and manage the colleges' merchandise strategies.
On-site Event Management:

Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure all aspects run smoothly. Coordinate event staff and volunteers, providing clear instructions and support as needed. Address any issues or emergencies that arise during events promptly and effectively.
Post-Event Evaluation:

Collect and analyze feedback from attendees and stakeholders to assess event success and identify areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports summarizing event outcomes, expenditures, and recommendations for future events.

Qualifications and Experience



Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field. 3 years' experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within an educational setting. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on occasion, as required by event schedules. Experience with budget management and financial reporting. Knowledge of marketing and promotional strategies. Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
