Agricultural Marketing Assistant Fall/Winter Employment Opportunity The Agricultural Marketing Assistant provides direct support to the Executive Director in the day-to-day operations of the outreach and extension component of the organization to build public trust. This role is fast paced with numerous functions and responsibilities attached to it and reports to the Executive Director. A work week of 14 hours is scheduled. Functions of the role include;

  • Helping deliver the marketing and communications plan for the organization
  • building relationships with producers,
  • ensuring office is open during regular business hours and provides a warm and welcoming environment
  • complying with regulations in regard to operations of the organization
  • adherence to administrative best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • supporting the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the organization
  • building public trust with consumers
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of the Agricultural Marketing Assistant correlate to effective and efficient operations of the "Marketing and Communications Plan" including public outreach and education. The responsibilities also include ensuring grower information data is up to date and catalogued appropriately in the information management systems and building public trust with consumers.Duties and Responsibilities include.
  • Front Desk Reception- answering phones, greeting visitors, providing refreshments, and ensure environment is welcoming and receptive.
  • Communications-responding to inquiries, providing information for social media, interviewing growers for public relations, short video production, and website development
  • Data Input and Collection- updating quota software, databases, contact lists, producer lists, and the policy and procedure manual.
  • Event Planning- assisting the Membership and Communications Coordinator with the planning of the Golf
Tournament, mid-summer meeting, and any other events during the timeframe of employment.
  • Office work- includes filing, data management, gathering field data, and general office duties.
  • Public Relations- promotion of ASBG at public events throughout the summer in addition to working with stakeholders. This includes organizing Open Farm Days, Parades, and Country in the City.
  • Development of the annual social media calendar including content development.
Job Information.
  • Employment from September 12, 2022- April 30, 2023, with the potential for full time summer term
  • Hours of work: 14 hours per week, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, lunch hour off, with the remaining 7 hours flexible around schedule and can be done remotely. There may be work periodically in the evenings and on weekends that requires the individual to be on-site.
  • Hourly Wage of $18.00.
Applications will be accepted from August-September 5, 2022 and only from individuals planning to attend post-secondary in the fall in an agricultural and/ormarketing field of study in at least the 2nd year of study.
