Job Description

Summary

This position assists the marketing and senior team at the Broadway Across Canada Regional Office in Ottawa. The role will assist in the implementation of marketing and public relations campaigns. The role will be based in Ottawa. Hybrid work is available to a degree.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Show Marketing

  • Assist in trafficking all electronic, print, and interactive ads for all engagements.
  • Assist in trafficking and distributing ads and collateral for season subscription campaigns.
  • Facilitate the approval process of collateral between shows and NY offices.
  • Work with National Marketing Director on creation, content, and strategy of email blasts.
  • Liaise with current grassroots promotional contacts and develop new partnerships for non-media promotional initiatives.
  • Assist with organic content for social media channels.
  • Assist with monitoring social media channels.
  • Manage sub-table staffing across all markets.
  • Collect and distribute social coverage of shows in all markets.
  • Manage media invites and opening night preparations for upcoming shows.
  • Manage the playbill (design - printing -delivery).
  • Assist with customer service inquiries, including our website, incoming inquiries through service email, office mainline, and social media messages.
  • Maintain a library of up-to-date artwork for internal and show needs.
  • Support senior staff in maintaining reports for BAC, sponsors, and shows.
  • Support senior staff on special projects such as group client development, season plans, social media contests, promotions, show event pricing checks, and charity requests.
  • Assist in maintaining press contact lists.
Groups Sales Marketing
  • Assist in cultivating a social plan for the Group Sales Facebook Group.
  • Work with National Marketing & Group Sales Director on creation, strategy, and execution of sales communication.
  • Review group ticket pricing.
  • Review the company website for revisions or updates.
  • Assist with proofing and deploying blast communications.
  • Assist with new group business development research.
  • Copywriting for groups Marketing Outreach.
  • Assist group sales and sponsorships teams in the execution of collateral and promotional needs.
Office Administration
  • Assist with general office administration duties.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Proficient in Word
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Reliable transportation to and from the venue
  • Conversational French is a plus but not required
  • Attention to detail/copy-editing skills
  • Ability to multitask/work on multiple market projects at one time
Education and/or Experience
  • Post-Secondary level course work, degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications or Arts Administration preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Google Ads Certifications, Basis Certification, and Google Analytics Certification are a plus.
