we have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to join our team.You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. The Marketing Assistant will support the Digital Marketing Manager in the implementation of the digital marketing strategy to deliver strategic business objectivesacquisition of new supporters, conversions, engagement, and retention of existing supporters. Support the digital team in the production and maintenance of the Human Appeal Canada site, and other digital assets and channels.
Key duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):
Play a key part in data driven optimization of our digital channels and campaigns, in order to provide a compelling digital and centric experience, acquire new supporters, increase income and engage and retain current supporters.
Contribute to the development of new digital functionality, maintaining technical and accessibility standards.
Day-to-day management of the website such as uploading content (copy, images, links) creating landing pages, blog pages, tracking issues/requests, housekeeping and testing.
Be actively involved in ongoing website onpage SEO activity to boost brand presence and acquire new traffic, encourage interaction, conversions and engagement / retention, as part of our ongoing website development project.
Assist in the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns.
Support the digital marketing team with email campaigns and reporting to wider stakeholders.
Proof reading content to ensure webpages and social media content are free from grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors and optimized to digital best practice.
Assist in delivering long term digital brand growth through various digital marketing techniques across the customer lifecycle.
Assist in the creation of plans to build a long-term digital connection with customers customer onboarding and customer engagement and retention.
Support the Digital Marketing Manager in measuring the performance of digital marketing activity using a variety of web analytics tools.
Support the digital team in the creation of blog, social and email content.
Support the managing of Human Appeals social media accounts, creating and optimizing posts and images in various campaigns and tracking the success of these posts.
Solving supporter queries on the social media channels, this will involve liaising with our Customer Care Team.
Conduct market research and make recommendations for new digital marketing activity.
Carry out competitor research to assess the digital opportunities.
Acquire insight in online marketing trends and keep strategies up-to-date.
Liaise with external agencies and third parties when required.
Supporting the Head of Digital Marketing and wider team on ad hoc projects to assist the team in reaching their targets and goals.
Skills and Experience:
Proven 1-year minimum of digital marketing experience or related experience.
Knowledge / experience of humanitarian / development and / or charity work / Third Sector, with an awareness of Human Appeals work (desirable).
Previous experience using content management systems, preferably Umbraco
Experience using social media platforms and management tools e.g Hootsuite, Sprout Social
Proven experience in various digital marketing concepts, channels and an understanding on how you can use the digital marketing mix to increase brand positioning and drive revenue.
Experience in Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Google DataStudio, Google Sheets, Hotjar, Facebook Business Manager and Facebook Advertising Manager.
Search marketing experience.
Experience working with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp
Skills and experience in online / creative content writing.
Experience managing social media accounts.
Experience and an understanding in basic SEO.
Experience with blogging, tweeting or running your own social media channels.
