We're looking for a creative, organized, and relationship-driven
Marketing Assistant
to help us showcase the best of our region. You'll be working closely with our Marketing Manager, who is incredibly driven, talented and passionate - so we are looking for someone who will bring the same attitude and focus.
As part of your role, you'll be working closely with local businesses, content creators, and our internal team to bring campaigns to life - from concept to execution. If you're a natural connector, a strong writer, and a digital multitasker with a flair for visuals, this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Build and maintain relationships
with local businesses and tourism partners
Write compelling blogs
that highlight regional experiences, events, and businesses
Edit and update content in WordPress
(pages, posts, SEO tags, images)
Write and design newsletters
that inform and inspire our audience
Engage with followers
across social media platforms (comments, DMs, shares)
Create and execute marketing campaigns
across email, social, and web
Coordinate and schedule influencers, photographers, and videographers
Design graphics
for social media, newsletters, and web (using Canva or Adobe Suite)
Create landing pages
for campaigns, events, and promotions
Build travel itineraries
and themed trip ideas for visitors
Assist with event planning and promotion
(online and on-site)
Monitor and report on campaign performance
using analytics tools
Support paid ad campaigns
(Google, Meta, etc.) with copy and visuals
Help manage media libraries
(photos, videos, brand assets)
Contribute to annual marketing planning
and brainstorming sessions
Stay on top of tourism and marketing trends
to keep our content fresh
Work a few hours each week at the Visitor Centre
to connect directly with tourists, gather insights, and stay grounded in the real experiences of our guests
Who You Are
A strong communicator and relationship-builder
Skilled in writing, editing, and storytelling
Comfortable with WordPress, Canva, SnapSea
Organized and detail-oriented with great time management
Creative and visually-minded with a good eye for design
Curious, proactive, and excited to learn and grow
Passionate about local tourism and community engagement
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with SEO and Google Analytics
Basic photo or video editing
Knowledge of the Fraser Valley region
Experience working with DMOs or tourism boards
